Ah, the Bailey House Museum. Forgive me if the following sounds weird (because—disclaimer—it is), but I love that place so much, there’s a sick, Antiques Roadshow-loving side of me that just wants to make dust angels on the floor for days on end, in an effort to soak up a bit more of their historical goodness. This Saturday I can get my fix without looking like a psycho, at the 10th annual “E Ho‘olulu Aloha” (To Grow Love) benefit for the Maui Historical Society. They’re encouraging you to stretch out on blankets or low-backed beach chairs so you can comfortably enjoy the day’s entertainment (in between grinding onolicious fare, observing cultural demonstrations like poi pounding, lei and kapa making, lauhala weaving and Hawaiian quilting and shopping for unique gifts from the vendors and at the museum’s gift shop). Speaking of which, Uluwehi Guerrero (pictured), fresh off wins for Album and Entertainer of the Year at the Na Hoku Hanohano awards, will headline, joined by Richard Ho‘opi‘i, Lei‘ohu Ryder, Halau Hula Kauluokala, Na Leo Lani O Maui community choir and emcee Braddah Poki of Pacific Radio Group. 244-3326, mauimuseum.org
