Yesterday in Paia Town, MauiTime art director, Chris Skiles, caught Adam Sandler reading the latest copy of “MauiTime: Animal Wrongs?” Skiles
nabbed a photo, not wanting to miss a chance to highlight Sandler in our new “busted” feature (shots taken by anyone of anyone caught reading MauiTime in public). When Sandler was busted, he was hanging out on the street, acting all low-key like a good hubby while his wife, Jackie, browsed a Paia bikini shop.
Adam Sandler is working on the new comedy, “Just Go With It,” with co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman. They seem like an odd trio, but then again, Sandler’s an odd guy, and the plot looks like it’s going to take a little twist off of the usual romantic comedy script. Sandler enlists the help of a woman and her kids in order to hunt down another woman who is apparently “the woman of his dreams.” Guess which parts Aniston and Kidman play. The Maui setting is probably just a nice excuse for Sandler to stop by Maui just like an aging rock star and relax at the beach and chow down on pizza with Owen Wilson – I have no evidence of them actually spending time together, but do know that Wilson is a major Flatbread aficionado.
Also, in mockery of our cheesy-cheese tourist attractions, the waiters at one of the restaurants in the film will don flippers. I’m sensing that some Rocket-Power style humor will be fueling audience laughter.
Good luck topping Skiles’ photo capture of Sandler… but if you want to submit a snapshot to Busted, I guess we’ll accept shots of old ladies, goth kids, and literate dogs.
