I was delayed again today getting off the mountain from Kula. Seems odd that the other for-profit companies that have slow-moving agricultural vehicles don’t use public roadways but your 15-mile-per-hour bicycles have no problem. Your tourists come down from the crater on your bikes and choke the driving lane daily and without regard to the people who pay high prices for gas and its attendant road taxes. Do these two-wheeled hazards ride in the designated bicycle lanes? Well, yes they do… when they STOP! But when they are riding, these bicycle-borne masses slow traffic to a crawl, all in the name of your profits. Imagine if farm combines and cane trucks were to travel on the roads daily. They too are profit-making vehicles, but they have their own roads. Come to think of it, I wish a farm combine would travel on the public roads… right behind your slow bikers and swallow them up. Use the bicycle lanes or get off the road, brah.
