One morning not too long ago I traveled across the island to get tickets to a big concert. I got there around 8:45am (tickets went on sale at 9am) and had my one-year-old daughter in her backpack carrier. As I get closer to the entrance, I began to realize that the line had hundreds of people. I started having an “oh s**t” moment, mostly because I knew that my daughter would probably not wait that long, and that I might eventually have to forget the whole effort. Just then, an older gentleman approached me and asked if I just got there. I told him yes, and then he told me he was there only to accompany his sister in the line, so I could take his spot–the 28th spot in line. I got into line right as they opened the windows, waited at most 15 minutes, and scored second row seats. What an unreal random act of kindness!
