This is for the lady outside the supermarket in Kihei smoking a cigarette and holding a baby: if you’re going to blow toxic cancer clouds into your poor helpless kid’s face, try not to do also be talking (loudly) on your cell phone about how worried you are that nuclear radiation is going to travel thousands of miles across the ocean and kill you. I’m not trying to downplay the crisis in Japan; it’s scary and very sad. But there are some ironies that should be obvious even to the hopelessly stupid.
