I enjoy being a part of my brides special day and crewing their wedding dress. I design couture and custom wedding garments, all aspects of wardrobe for a bridal party. I love dressing not only the bride but also all the groomsmen and bridesmaids as well so that they are able to compliment the bride on her special day. I wanted to make sure that the pieces I created for the annual MauiTime Wedding Guide were very non-traditional. I desired a fashion edge to it but still needed to have that bridal feel. The first look was a two-piece wedding gown and bodysuit with a tulle skirt and train. The second look was an ivory plunging neckline jumpsuit with a cape. The last look I designed is a sheer white mesh mermaid gown with beaded lace appliqué. My inspiration is introduce a new kind of bridal to newly engaged brides so that they can have something very different for their wedding or be inspired to be different. A life without love is no life at all.

Weddings are always happening here in Hawaii. It’s also quite an honor to be able to be a part of such an important day. My expertise is in make up, but I style hair as well. I wanted to take some creative license coming up with the looks and played with a little more drama when it came to the makeup. With most of the weddings I do, the look is somewhat natural. For this shoot, I wanted to have some fun and play with some heavier liner and dramatic eyes. Thanks to social media, ideas and inspiration to design your wedding can be found very easily. Find and idea and put your own personal stamp on it, and have it reflect your personality. Your wedding is the perfect time to customize your special day to you!

Photography is such a powerful way of reliving a moment. When I deliver images to my couples, I feel like I’ve delivered something that they will keep with them forever and it gives meaning to my work. I’m very inspired by fashion photographs and a lot of my personal projects have an editorial style. I wanted to infuse that into these images to showcase both my personal photography and my wedding photography.

I love working in the wedding industry. We have the ability to make people, both men and women beautiful on the most important days of their life. For this MauiTime Wedding Guide looks I created an loose beachy wave on our cover model Hiki, by adding texturizing sea spray from Paul Mitchell. It gave me the ability to create a more tousled texture. On Loreley I used a crimp iron for added texture and fullness, then created an awesome body filled up style. Finishing the look with Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi wild ginger shine spray. On Savannah I created a sexy soft dry finger wave using a Paul Mitchell 1.25 inch barrel curling iron to set those luscious waves. The looks for the season are soft texture and soft lines. We live in beautiful Hawaii, so this is a trend–keeping the hair simple yet soft. As a team we play really well off of each other. Marie’s an amazing photographer, Koa’s dresses are the main focus that helps to inspire my ideas and Ry-n does magic with makeup. We play off of each other’s strengths. My philosophy is always GO BIG.
