Leah Alves and Alan Alves
Leah and Alan Alves had a hot and stormy romance that started with his friend chatting her up at a Top Shelf Restaurant in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Alan owns Lighthouse Masonry with his brother, and Leah was a student of social work at the time. She says they were both set in their ways, and have a lot of social and political differences, but love prevailed. Leah says she wasn’t 100 percent serious when she asked Alan to marry her on Valentine’s Day last year, but he said yes. They had an intimate wedding with just the two of them at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Kira Carlton coordinated the wedding by the ocean. Leah walked down the aisle in a white dress while “If We’re Honest” by Francesca Battistelli played. She says the way Alan looked and smiled at her at that moment told her she was a lucky woman.
