The Maui Wedding Association has elected announced the election of seven members to its Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 term; in addition, Tambara Garrick, Hawaii Regional Sales Manager for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Mai Tai Bar, was named President for the upcoming term.
The Board of Directors include: Janet Inda, Wedding Coordinator/Catering & Event Manager at The King Kamehameha Golf Club & Kahili Golf Course; Elaine Kerr, Director of Special Events at the Plantation House Kapalua; and Joseph Narrowe, Officiant with Distinctive Weddings Maui.
“I look forward to working with the new board to accomplish the goals of the association which is to promote and connect Maui wedding professionals,” Garrick said. “The $72 billion dollars spent annually on weddings in the United States means that this is a market segment that cannot be ignored. My goal for the association is to work with our partners such as the Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau to continue to position Maui as a top wedding destination.”
Ryan Beenken, Sales and Marketing Manager of Hard Rock Cafe Maui was elected to the board as Vice President. Tim Clark, Owner of Hawaiian Island Weddings Inc. will continue his board service as Treasurer for the upcoming year. Kymberly Marr of Makeup and Talent Hawaii was reelected for a third term as secretary.
The election took place during the association’s annual meeting on June 28 at The King Kamehameha Golf Club & Kahili Golf Course, an association member.
The Maui Wedding Association produces the award-winning magazine “The Maui Wedding Planner,” which has an annual circulation of 17,500. The association also produces the Maui Wedding Expo. The 2016 Maui Wedding Expo, which will be the association’s 21st annual, will be held on August 27th, 2016 from 10am-3pm at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.
