Maui’s obon festival is happening now! If you haven’t yet been to one this season, take advantage of attending the annual Wailuku Hongwanji Mission Obon Festival this Friday, July 29. The obon service at the Wailuku Hongwanji Mission will feature bon-odori dancing, taiko drumming, music and delicious food. Food vendors will have super ono grinds like chow fun, rolled sushi, teriyaki beef plates, nishime, salads and more. Free. 8pm.
