Maui’s annual Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance Day will take place this Sunday, Aug. 7 at the Lahaina Jodo Mission. There, attendees will hear from Joam Evans Pim, the director of the Center for Global Non-Killing. He’ll discuss “Preventing Nuclear War from a Non-Killing Perspective.” There will also be a crafts area where guests can learn how to make origami cranes, a Japanese drumming performance from Maui Taiko and educational entertainment from Leohu Ryder and Koto.
