The basic info on yourself and spa or salon:
Ho’omana Spa Maui is a Hawaiian owned and operated Spa Retreat located in Upcountry Makawao.
What is unique about our spa is that we are an Authentic Hawaiian Healing Spa-Hale. In ancient times, if one were seeking Hawaiian healing in the village, they would look to the village practitioner. They would load up their loved ones and go for a visit to Aunty’s house where they would be welcomed as family. She would offer healing prayers and chant, dispense herbal plant medicines from the ‘aina, “talk-story” sharing her wisdom, perform Ho’oponopono as well as lomi lomi massage bringing body, mind, and spirit back to balance. If our ancestors were alive today and practicing their healing lineage, their “storefront” would be a Spa. Hoomana Spa Maui is the modern day setting for perpetuating our ancient ways.
Jeana Naluai, our owner and spa director has been blessed to have been taught by many Aunties and Uncles who have blessed her with perpetuating their lineage through the spa. This lineage, is perpetuated through our uniquely Hawaiian lomi lomi massage packages that include chants, teas, baths, and scrubs infused with herbs picked right from our native and botanical gardens. Also offered at our spa are various Hawaiian healing classes as well as a Lomi Lomi Apprenticeship program.

How many years experience in the industry?
17 years
What got you started in the spa, salon or wellness industry? When was this?
My initial career path began as an orthopedic Physical Therapist. In 2000, I had began my journey diving deeper into my Hawaiian roots and was privileged to study Hawaiian Lomi Lomi with elders throughout the islands as well as within my own family lineage. Their work inspired me beyond anything I had ever learned in Physical Therapy training. The gentle, holistic and therapeutic approach yielded transformational results on many levels and I knew that I had found my path.
Please give me one fitness tip:
Get out to the ocean early and get your heart rate up with a walk along the beach then purify with a few laps in the ocean. You will feel cleansed and rejuvenated by the ocean and early morning sun.
What is your personal favorite spa or salon therapy and where and when you indulge in it?
If you have the opportunity to experience Ultimate Four Hand Lomi at Ho’omana Spa Maui, you will never find more relaxation and nurturing than this.

Please name your most popular retail item and what it does.
Ti-Rose Herbal Mist- this product is a marriage of Ti leaf Hydrosol, a pinch of Pa’a kai (blessed Hawaiian salt), and rose essential oil. Ti leaf and salt have traditionally been used for clearing people and spaces, while rose is the highest vibrational essential oil. We use this formula for a face and body mist as well as a room spray to calm and clear your energy.
