You know what we love most about you, our readers? It’s that you care. Seriously. You really do.
You care about things like who runs the best Twitter feed on Maui, or where you can find the best auto mechanic on the island. You have real, considered opinions about who provides the island’s best bikini waxing, open mic night and, of course, pet supply store. Our readers know a great deal about Maui, and we love that you’re not shy about sharing.
Of course, we’re talking about this year’s annual Best of Maui issue, which you’re right now holding in your own two hands (or squinting at on your own smartphone). It’s the culmination of months of thinking, writing, selling, photographing and designing on our part, but none of it could have been done without your insight and assistance. This is our largest issue of the year, and there’s no way we could do it without our readers.
For weeks we included our annual Best of Maui reader’s poll in the paper, and for weeks you voted on your choices on what’s truly great about Maui. It was then up to us to steadily, methodically gather up the votes–like so many Lego blocks from our youths (and, ok, adulthoods)–and build the issue into the massive construct that it is.
We hope you enjoy what came of all that effort. Judging from years prior, there will be plenty of smiles, and a few snorts, at the results. But never forget that all this is a result of your collective judgment.
