BEST DIFFICULT HIKE
Haleakala National Park boasts miles and miles of hiking in lava sand as well as freezing temperatures and rocky trails. And it all takes place in a crater reminiscent of some Martian tundra. Oh, and there’s a lot less oxygen than you’re used to inhaling. Yeah it’s a challenge. If you’re planning to spend the night you will need to pack plenty of water, too.
