FISH SANDWICH
Paia Fish Market
Some people gripe about the Fish Market’s picnic-table style seating—or, more to the point, that there’s not enough of it. But I like it: it lends itself to meeting new people and gives the place a backyard picnic vibe. As for the crowdedness? Well, that’s pretty much unavoidable given how damn good the food is. I’m partial to the fish and chips, to the point where I often ignore other options, but put the fish between sesame seed buns and garnish it with tarter sauce and other fixin’s and it’s still eat-every-bite-and-look-around-for-more delicious. (Note: They do, technically, call their fish sandwiches “burgers,” but whatever.) 2 Baldwin Ave., Paia, 808-579-8030. [JS]
