Best Steak
RUTH’S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE
I know next to nothing about good steak. I haven’t eaten red meat since that summer I spent hawking hot dogs in front of a hardware store—100-degree humidity, a boiling pot of beef franks and a bad hangover. Believe me, it could make anyone vegetarian. When I told Bruce, the manager at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Lahaina about my non-meat-eating tendencies, he said, “I’m sorry to hear that.” I asked him what he could tell me to make me want to eat his meat. “We’ve got the best flavored steak around, cooked in an 1800-degree oven that seals the juices inside,” he answered in all seriousness. “And plus, you can cut our filets with a fork.” Did Bruce convert me? Close, but no. Should you eat at Ruth’s Chris if you want a phenomenal steak? Yes. [EG]
