The MACC or Maui Arts and Cultural Center is home to: the Castle Theatre, A and B Amphitheatre, Schaefer Gallery, Yokouchi Pavilion, Founders Courtyard, the Pa and McCoy Studio Theatre, located in the North of Kahului. The MACC often hosts musicians, comedians, acrobats, dancers, and actors in its multiple venues. The logo for the MACC shows a petroglyph image of a human releasing a bird, it symbolizes “the freedom of expression that lies at the heart of all creative endeavors”

Artists interested in participating in SPC 2018 may submit their work on Sep 23, 2017, 9am-noon. The Challenge is open to artists 18+ who are Hawaii residents. All works entered must be original one-of-a-kind and newly-created specifically for this exhibition. For entry information, artists may access the “Call to Artists” prospectus and SPC2018 application on the MACC’s website. Printed copies are also available at the MACC. Exhibition dates will be Jan. 16 to Mar. 18, 2018

An all-star lineup including some of Hawaii's best slack key guitar players will perform a full afternoon of melodious Hawaiian music. Ki Ho'alu, translating literally from Hawaiian as “loosen the key,” indicating the tuning in slack key guitar technique, is a musical tradition dating back to 19th century paniolo.
