This Thursday marks the start of the 33rd annual Kapalua Wine and Food Festival. It runs through Sunday, June 15. This is Maui’s premiere culinary and wine event. Sample vino trends from New Zealand, Italy, the Pacific Northwest, Russian River Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands. Master sommeliers and guest chefs like Dean Fearing and Andrew Sutton will present various winemaking and food preparation techniques. The weekend will culminate with a Seafood Festival, where 14 restaurants will vie for the “Best of the Fest” award. A portion of the proceeds will benefit UH/Maui College’s Culinary Program.
