On Monday, March 11, the Maui Police Department was called to assist Maui Community Correctional Center in quelling a “disturbance” caused by inmates who refused to follow directives to return to their cells, and instead started a fire. Maui Community Correctional Center pays for ‘serious’ violations
Documents obtained by MauiTime show that on Jun. 27 Maui Community Correctional Center and the Department of Public Safety were fined for two items deemed “serious” by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
