Well, the Na Koa Ikaika Maui certainly has my number. The baseball season for Maui’s only pro team has been over for months, but here I am writing about them solely because they sent me a press release that included a digital shot of a bunch of hot chicks in bikinis. The chicks in question are the team’s spirit squad, otherwise known as the “Victory Girls.” Just in time for the holidays, they’ve released a new calendar.
“The Victory Girls are intelligent, beautiful and talented with diverse ethnicities, reflecting the true exotic ‘Melting Pot’ nature of the Hawaiian Islands,” stated a Nov. 30 press release from Victory Girls Director Lily Acain. “These ladies are available to hire for Special Event appearances, community fundraisers as well as modeling, television and film projects.”
Acain (who also performed under the name Aileen Acain) is a Hawaii-born former actress and model. IMDB lists her credits as including a bit role in Beverly Hills Cop III, episodes of the 1990s TV shows One West Waikiki (as the character “Pui Loi”), Weird Science (“Jungle Girl”) and Baywatch (“Girl Jason Saves”) as well as the 1996 video Traci Bingham: Exposed, which earned Acain a “Great Nudity!” rating from Mr. Skin.
According to Acain’s press release, the idea of the Victory Girls came directly from team owner Bob Young, who had fielded a similar squad with the Fullerton, California-based Orange County Flyers, which he used to own. “Upon taking over the ownership of the Na Koa Ikaika Maui at the end of the 2010 season, he was determined to carry on the tradition here on Maui,” stated the news release.
The calendars cost $15 if you buy them direct from the team office (250 Alamaha St., Kahului) or $12.99 plus shipping and handling if you get them online at Mauiprobaseball.com.
