There was a time when Democratic candidates just took union and trial lawyer money and Republicans only accepted contributions from big business and wealthy bankers. That time, as the following chart of campaign contributions makes clear, is over. While the national media tears their hair out trying to accentuate “differences” between the various front-running candidates, we decided to accentuate some of the more disturbing similarities between them. When you look at numbers like these, it’s hard not to wonder why “fringe” candidates like Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul–who don’t get anything like these contributions–aren’t getting more voter support…
