The Maui Amateur Radio Club (MARC) will be observing Amateur Radio Field Day at the pill box above Ho`okipa this Saturday, June 25. The Amateur Radio Relay League first started the event in 1933, and it allows people to experiment with electronics and communication techniques that will aid in disaster situations. The Maui club chose the pillbox site because that’s where a U.S. Naval Radio Station sat during World War II. Free. 8am. Ho`okipa Beach Park (Hana Highway, Paia); kh6rs.org
