The Merwin Conservancy’s literary salon series presents Hawai‘i: Language Matters this Friday, Feb. 19 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Highlighting the importance of Hawaiian Language along with the Hawaiian immersion program ‘Aha Punana Leo, the evening will include songs, a screening of the Hawaii segment of the documentary Language Matters and a symposium. The evening’s panelists include Bob Holman, Dr. Puakea Nogelmeier, Kepa Maly, Keali`i Reichel, Ki‘ope Raymond, Leilei Ishikawa and Kaimana Brummel.
