Maui Roadsters’ classic Porsche reproduction is pictured on the cover of the June/July issue of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Maui Roadsters, known for their vintage car rentals on Maui, is receiving worldwide attention now that its star car–their classic silver 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster reproduction–is gracing the cover of the world-renowned travel magazine’s summer issue.
The cover shot features the car driving Upcountry on a ribbon of highway. The summer issue also features a second shot of the Speedster on the Table of Contents page. Both the cover and inside photos were taken by freelance photographer Adrian Gaut.
The issue also listed Maui as one of Conde Nast’s 26 recommended summer destinations.
Maui Roadsters is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Larry Lutz and Christine Vestfals.
“We’re so thrilled and honored to have our Speedster featured so prominently the cover of Conde Nast Traveler, one of the most prestigious travel magazines in the world,” the couple said in a statement. “Maui has so many great driving routes, but when we have a day to ourselves, our favorite drive is Upcountry to Keokea and Ulupalakua where the lush rolling hills, winding roads and the smell of eucalyptus trees transport us to another place. It feels like we’re a world away and the gorgeous views over Makena and across the channel to Molokini, Kaho’olawe and West Maui remind us how lucky we are to live on this incredible island.”
This is the second magazine cover for Maui Roadsters who had their ivory Speedster featured on the September 2014 cover of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine. That photograph was shot by Maui’-based Tamiz Photography.
