Duke’s Beach House in Ka`anapali recently honored Trisha Calhoun, Graham Seiki and Keola Rogat of Princess Nahi`ena`ena Elementary School as Educators of the Month (March, April and May respectively).
Calhoun, a volunteer from the farming industry, is the school’s resident gardener and was praised for sharing her enthusiasm for agriculture with the students. She also teaches K-2 graders about the benefits of healthy eating.
April Educator Award winner Seiki is the Technology Coordinator at Princess Nahi`ena`ena Elementary School. Seiki was nominated by his peers for going above and beyond for all of the students, including Hawaiian Immersion.
Vice Principal Rogat was celebrated for his dedication to the staff and students.
“We are so proud to be able to acknowledge the great work that the staff at Princess are providing for the children in West Maui,” said Josh Fukagawa, the manager of Duke’s Beach House on Maui. “Through the Duke’s Beach House Legacy of Aloha program, we are able to support organizations and people accomplishing great things for the community.”
The award-winning educators were presented with an engraved Koa box and a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House to honor their dedication.
