This just in: Martin & MacArthur is opening a new store at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua! I know, you’re probably thinking, “Um, wasn’t there already one of those there?” Nope! But those of you who find yourselves in Kapalua and suddenly need to pick up a koa wood watch or koa wood hat or koa wood iPhone 6+ case, you’re finally in luck. At 9am on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the store will open for business.
“The Ritz Carlton is committed to providing the very best of Hawaii to each of our guests, and from a craftsmanship and quality standpoint the artisans represented by Martin & MacArthur are the finest in the Islands,” said Alex Ahluwalia, General Manager, in an Oct. 20 press release from M&M.
The store will include 1,200 square feet of koa wonders from Hawaii craftsmen like Boris Huang, Keith Maile, Roy Tsumoto, Dewey Medeiros, Francisco Clemente, Michael Patrick Smith, Gregg Smith and Cynthia Francisco, according to the press release. “Employing 6 people, the furniture craftsmen of Martin & MacArthur built all the store fixtures for the new location, just as they have done for each of the company’s retail stores,” stated the press release.
As you can see from the photo above, pop superstar Taylor Swift loves koa wood, the guitar in the photo didn’t come from the new Martin & MacArthur location in Kapalua. But who knows what the future holds?
