On the last Friday of every month, Plantation House hosts a fun evening of treats created by Chef Jojo Vasquez, paired with tracks spun by DJ Eliza. It’s called Beats and Eats. Lounge while you watch the sun set behind the green Kapalua hills. Specials on wine and cocktails are on the menu, and Vasquez creates an all-new dining experience with inspired plates of fish collar, risotto, kale salads and other tapas. You can also order off the regular menu and wine list if you so desire. May 29, 5-9pm. No cover. Plantation House (2000 Plantation Club Dr., Kapalua); 808-669-6299, Theplantationhouse.com.
Pineapple Grill is also doing an Industry Night every Thursday, 6pm to close. “We look forward to thanking our industry patrons and having them enjoy a fun night with colleagues every Thursday with Chef Robert and our experienced bar staff,” says GM Chad Hubbard. Hospitality professionals are honored with delicious bites from Chef Rob Barrera and Chef Jeff like their slider duo, house-ground burger–brioche with caramelized onions and bleu cheese sauce; Ahi–pork belly, soft boiled egg, garlic toast and loco moco gravy; and the surf and turf tacos–beef and shrimp tacos, roasted jalapeno aioli and cabbage. Last Thursday, the menu ventured into Italian with Lasagna Bolognese with ricotta and parm and gnudi with ricotta, parm emulsion and sage ($10.95), Gnocchi and pork and beef meatballs ($12.95), mini caprese stacks ($9.95) and sweet zeppole ($8.95). Wine and drink specials start at $8 and there’s also live music from Danyel Alana. Even better, Happy Hour starts at 3:30pm and runs seamlessly into Industry Night so you don’t have to get off your bar stool.
