The annual Hawaii Farmers Union United Convention runs from this Friday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Maui Tropical Plantation. Centering on the importance of local food sustainability, the weekend will feature workshops and interactive festivities. Highlights will include guest speakers Tulsi and Mike Gabbard and a March of the Microbes parade and costume contest on Friday, a compost competition and HFUU State board of directors meeting on Saturday and the Fall Seed and Plant Exchange and live dance music with Marty Dread & Friends on Sunday. $95 (Maui residents), $70 (neighbor island residents).
