This Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 6-9: Wailea Wine and Food Festival 2012

Swirl, sip and savor as Wailea celebrates the vino. Wailea’s Four Seasons Resort Maui, The Fairmont Kea Lani, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Grand Wailea join forces to bring you Wailea Wine and Food Festival 2012. This year the signature beneficiary is the Maui Culinary Academy. Hundreds of spirits from 65 wineries around the world, resort chef’s cuisine and eight Master Sommeliers will have the island buzzin’. Whether guests attend the “Escape to Italy in Eight glasses”encounter or “Pinot Passion” encounter, connoisseurs will enjoy the latest trends in food and wine. Participating restaurants include Amasia, DUO, Capische?, Nick’s Fish Market, and more. Remember guests MUST be 21+ to participate in any of the festivals encounters.     Oolong teas are semi-oxidized teas. They are sometimes called ‘semi-fermented teas,’ though this moniker is considered to be less technically correct than semi-oxidized teas. After the tealeaves are picked, they are rolled and allowed to oxidize. Oxidation produces the floral notes that characterize many oolongs.^
