MAUI FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOKSTORE NOW OPEN AT QUEEN KAAHUMANU CENTER – Maui Friends of the Library is now, apparently, the island’s biggest bookstore chain. They currently have locations in Puunene and Lahaina (at the Wharf Cinema Center) and now they’ve opened their biggest operation yet: a 3,000 square-foot store in the Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kahului. Located over at the Sears end of the mall, the bookstore will eventually offer around 30,000 used books, most priced between $1 and $3 (but don’t expect anywhere near that amount of stock now–they’re doing a formal Grand Opening in October). What’s more, the store will be open seven days a week (Mon.-Sat., 9:30am-7pm; Sun. 10am-5pm). They’re also actively looking for both volunteers and book donations. Queen Ka’ahumanu Center (275 W.
