Foodies, consider yourselves forewarned: this week is so stuffed with events, there’s no need to go grocery shopping. On Tuesday (November 16), Dining out for Hospice launches—grab a meal at any of the participating restaurants and they’ll donate a portion of the proceeds to Hospice Maui. Lots of Maui establishments are lending their support; go to hospicemaui.org for a complete list, and pay it forward by eating out. Also on Tuesday, Mark and Judy Ellman of Mala Ocean Tavern, along with Chef Ben Klein, are hosting a five-course beer-pairing dinner featuring Deschutes Brewery selections starting at 7pm. Kicking off on Monday (November 15) is Restaurant Week Hawaii, benefiting the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, with Maui participating for the first time. Find out where to go at restaurantweekhawaii.com. Finally, wine aficionados should head to the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas (667-3200) on Friday (November 12) for Storybook Mountain Winery pairings or to the Plantation House (669-6299), where Alex Stanislaw is presenting a bacon-inspired four-course dinner paired with Landmark Vineyards vino.
