OK, Mauians. This one is worth the inter-island travel. AEG Live confirmed today that Leonard Cohen‘s current world tour will be extended to include four new performances at 3,000-capacity venues (and rounding his concert tally to an even 250 since February 2009) — including Oahu’s Neal Blaisdell Center on Saturday, December 4. Other shows announced included Portland, Oregon’s Rose Quarter Theatre of the Clouds ( December 8 ) and Las Vegas, Nevada’s The Colosseum at Caesars Palace ( December 10 & 11 ). Mr. Cohen plans to return to the studio in 2011, so these are the last concert dates schedules at present time (and likely, for some time).
Pre-sale tickets are available to fan club members starting today at 10am, through September 24 at 10pm, at leonardcohenfiles.com. Public ticket sales begin Saturday, September 25 at 10am.
Mr. Cohen will be joined by Sharon Robinson and the Webb Sisters (vocals), Roscoe Beck (bass, vocals), Neil Larsen (keyboards & Hammond B3 accordion), Bob Metzger (electric, acoustic & pedal steel guitar), Javier Mas (bandurria, laud, archilaud, 12 string acoustic guitar), Rafael Gayol (drums, percussion), and Dino Soldo (sax, clarinet dobro – keys).
