Read MauiTime‘s This Week’s Picks blog post on Requests Music’s 20th birthday celebration, HERE.
Sorry you missed out on October’s Wailuku First Friday events? (If you did) You should be. Turn out was rather light (by comparison to recent months), due to the 88th annual Maui County Fair (not to mention that a healthy amount of WFF attendees rooted themselves in the new beer garden, instead of wandering the streets). But the fair was there Thursday through Sunday! You could have put down the flying saucer for just a couple hours to come celebrate — and those that did got a treat sweeter than cotton candy.
Giving sound to Requests’ 20th birthday bash was none other than Gomega. Here are a few photos from the finale. No apologies for the pic poor quality; I was too busy boogieing. [Though, I do like that everyone is illuminated in neon purple. That’s old school iPhone, baby. No apps needed.]

Can’t help it. I love this caricature artist and always seem to stop to snap an iPhone photo of him. One day, I’ll grow the nutsack to actually get a caricature done (it’s only $5 and takes just 15min). But then the problem becomes what to do with it then? I can’t hang it up — I mean, it’s a picture of me — and it’d seem a shame to hide it away in a scrapbook somewhere, where (given the quality of my scrapbooks) it’s likely to never be seen again. If anyone has any ideas, I’m all ears…
