BLUE HAWAIIAN MOONLIGHT – Join in for an evening concert featuring the “slack key master” George Kahumoku Jr. and students from the Institute of Hawaiian Music at UH Maui College benefiting the Maui Historical Society. Founded in 1951, the Maui Historical Society strives to preserve and share the history and heritage of Maui. FLOCK OF SEAGULLS – It’s time to rock out 80’s style! BAMP presents Totally 80’s Live featuring award-winning techno-pop group Flock of the Seagulls this Saturday. Known for their video hits “Space Age Love Song” and “I Ran (So Far Away),” the British group was reformed after breaking up by head singer Mike Score in 1995. SOLO ARTIST EXHIBITION – Hui No’eau presents Valerie Yong Ock Kim and Maui’s own Billy Welker, the artists featured during the Hui’s 2012 Solo Artist Exhibition, which runs Aug. 11- Sept. 21. This unique opportunity allows the artist to have a hands on role in planning and installing their art. With a degree in psychology and health care, Kim hails from Hawaii Island. But Welker, a native of the Valley Isle, studied fine arts and is a carpenter/general contractor by trade.
