Explore one of Hawaii’s most popular starches–kalo (taro)–this Saturday, May 30, at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens. Guests will learn about the different kalo varieties, its cultural importance and cultivation processes with farmer and practitioner Jerry Konanui. Guests can get up close and personal with the plant; they’ll also be able to taste MNBG’s varieties. Reservation required and fees apply. 9am-12pm.
