ATMOSPHERE – Sun, Jan 4. Minneapolis is known for pretty lakes, the Mall of America and lutefisk. But 17 years ago, the hip-hop act Atmosphere transformed the city into something else entirely new–a nexus from which underground rap spiraled-out to the masses. And thanks to the duo’s indefatigable touring habits, Top 20-charting albums and their galvanizing artist-owned label Rhymesayers (MF Doom, Aesop Rock), they’re still pushing the boundaries of what indie rap can mean. ADVENTURE CLUB- Sun, Jan 18. One of the hottest acts in electronic music right now, Adventure Club (Christian Srigley and Leighton James) is a tireless source of banging remixes, uplifting summertime anthems, infectious DJ mixes, and explosive live shows. Their debut EP Calling All Heroes hit #1 on iTunes Dance Album chart in the U.S. and Canada. Adventure Club specializes in meshing dubstep’s chainsaw synths with delicate vocals and surprisingly upbeat melodies, creating a unique sound. TERRY TEMPEST WILLIAMS- Mon, Jan 19. Check out renowned writer, conservationist and naturalist, Terry Tempest Williams.
