The Kapa To Dye For Hawaiian Art Workshop happens at the Hui No`eau Visual Arts Center on Saturday, May 6. It will introduce the ancient Hawaiian kapa craft–the art of making barkcloth from the Wauke tree. Students will learn more about the natural dyes made from Polynesian plants, how to process different plant materials to make natural dyes and find out the steps necessary to make kapa.
