We stopped by Hookipa Pavilions to watch the big waves and saw a hose spigot by the pavilion tables running full blast with a group of birds hanging around it. The water was just running and running, wasting so many gallons of water. We walked over to turn it off and the group of men sitting there said not to turn it off. When I mentioned that water was precious and expensive they said that the birds need the water too. They finally turned the spigot off after at least 10 minutes of running it full blast. SHAME ON YOU for wasting the aina’s precious resources! If you really want to give the birdies some water, fill a bowl, same as for a dog, instead of just letting it run all over the ground.
