BEST FEMALE BARTENDER
Amy Docherty
Like all good bartenders, Amy pays attention to her customers, knows how to pour a good drink and nearly always has a friendly smile on her face. That Amy is also a knockout who likes to chat up her customers are welcome bonuses. In an exclusive interview with MAUI TIME, Amy admitted that she’s tended bar at Kihei’s South Shore Tiki Lounge for just eight months! Clearly, South Maui’s Diva of Daquiri has made a good impression on our readers—in fact, she won the category handily, grabbing twice the number of votes as her closest runner-up (Katie Healy, who won the Best Female Bartender title back in 2005). But Amy is no rookie: she’s worked bars in L.A., Daytona and Boston, which is where she’s originally from but please don’t hold that against her. And she works every day except Monday and Tuesday, if you want to stop by Tiki Lounge and congratulate her. 1913 S. Kihei Rd., 874-6444.
Runner-up: Katie Healy. Dog & Duck Pub, 1913 S. Kihei Rd., 875-9669. (AP)
