BEST FINE DINING
david paul,s
I used to be intimidated by David Paul’s culinary sophistication, the supreme professionalism of its wait staff, and well, its prices. But that was before I actually ate there and discovered how wrong I was. First of all, the food is as good as it looks and you do get what you pay for. But my greatest discovery is if you sit at the bar, you can order from a “demi-menu.” That means you get to choose from a rather large list of entrees that are half the size and half the price of their full-menu counterparts. So not only do you look like a high roller just walking in to dine at this popular gourmet dig, but you also get a taste of what the other side is eating. Hurray for newfound pseudo-nouveau riche accessibility! 127 Lahainaluna Rd., Lahaina, 667-5117.
